Self-Inflating Bike Tyre!

Decrease Font Size Increase Font Size Text Size Print This Page

Inflating your bike tyre every time you go on a bike ride can become tedious so someone has invented a tyre that can inflate itself!

‘PumpTire’ can pump your bike tyre as you cycle so you don’t ever have to pump your bike up again.

This tyre has a small tube going around the outside of the tyre so that as it is compressed the air is squashed into the main inner tube and therefore filling it up. Once it has reached the recommended pressure it stops filling so it doesn’t get too big and risk popping or puncturing.

Over only a mile or about three minutes of cycling, you can pump your tyre from 22 psi to 52 psi, meaning that you would never have to pump your tyre again and if you ever want to adjust the pressure it is easily adjustable from the handlebar.

Although it is not in manufacture at the moment it is planning to be and you can reserve your PumpTire for when production starts.
