YJA Editors Hit the Slopes!

Snow Creek is a surprising venue for a ski run. Just up the road from Buffalo Bill’s hometown of Weston in Missouri, the gentle hills rise steeply above a creek where, with the help of a liberal supply of artificial snow, a delightful ski resort nestles.

2OK, with a lift elevation of 1,099 feet it’s a far cry from the mountains of Colorado, so yes the ski runs are relatively short, but that did not deter YJA editors, Sarah and Matt, when they took time off from The Future 2050 project to have fun on the slopes.

Now Matt, who is still upset about missing out on selection for Team GB in Sochi, is very proud of his skill on the skis and likes to show off, whereas Sarah is a novice having had only two weeks experience and that was probably on some far distant school exchange trip when she was 14.

Well, of course, you now want to see how they got on. If you can access YouTube join them on the slopes of Snow Creek!

Yeah very surprised to find out that just an hour’s drive from Kansas City lay this lovely little ski resort. Conditions were perfect for a few red runs and although the slopes were a little on the short side Sarah and I could not complain about the lush sunshine on our faces whilst relaxing on the chair lifts. Hopefully YJA will be back out in the good old US of A in the summer to link up with our American educator friends again for the next chapter in the Design Learning Challenge.
