Help on Offer for Victims of Bullying
There are many different types of bullying but typically include calling a young person horrible names because of the colour of their skin or physically hurting someone. Bullying can leave someone feeling anxious, depressed, lonely, worthless and scared.
You are never alone if you just press this program (www.childline.org.uk) or phone this number 08001111 and talk to Childline; it can really make a difference to a victim.
One young person who uses the website said: “I love 1-2-1 chat. I really want the courage to call the ChildLine number but at the moment I don’t have that. The counsellors on 1-2-1 chat are really kind; they just talk to me like a friend, how my day has been and what’s been happening. It helps me get through smaller things that would normally build up inside me.”
And finally, for someone who is being bullied, some good advice from the Childline website: “Try taking a quiet moment to talk to someone you trust and tell them about the problem. That could be a teacher or someone else you feel comfortable talking to. They can get in touch with your school and work out a way to help you.”
