T2Former British Superbike champion, Tommy Hill, is set to run a new BSB team, BeWiser APK Kawasaki, in the superbike class for next season.

Hill was racing for Swan Yamaha when he claimed the BSB title in 2011; he famously beat John ‘Hopper’ Hopkins by a very small margin to be the champion. He carried on racing with Swan Yamaha for the following season and came 3rd being beaten by Josh Brookes- on a Tyco Suzuki- and Shane ‘Shakey’ Byrne- on a rapid solicitors Kawasaki. He retired at the end of that season to spend time with his new family.

Now, for the 2015 season he will be in the senior management role for the BeWiser Kawasaki team.

When YJA asked Tommy at the NCE Motorcycle Live why he doesn’t carry on racing, he replied: “I wanted to move up to World Superbikes but the cost was way too much. After that I just lost the enthusiasm for racing.”

Nothing has been confirmed but there are rumours that the National Superstock 1000 Champion, Danny Buchan, will be joining the team.

It is an ambitious move to start up a two man British Superbike team but with a former BSB champion running it they must perform well.

Every BSB fan is wondering who will be racing on the Kawasaki ZX10Rs and where will they both finish in the rider’s championship.
