Success for Sheeran

d2Let’s face it, by now we’ve all heard of the talented ginger singer from Suffolk called Ed Sheeran. But, after a long time in the music business, was 2014 his year?

It all started when the singer released his highly anticipated album ‘X’ (pronounced multiply) on June 20th this year. His collaboration with Pharrell Williams (the hit pop star who sang ‘Happy’) resulted in more catchy and mainstream songs than Ed’s previous album called ‘+’.

The first song to be played on the radio from the album – called ‘Sing’ – was straight into the charts and stayed there for a long time and it’s likely you’ve heard the romantic song by Ed called ‘Thinking Out Loud’ played on the radio multiple times. The music video for the song has had over 61 million hits on YouTube.

Recently the singer/songwriter has become ‘Spotify’s Most Streamed Artist of 2014’, beating some huge musicians such as: Eminem, Coldplay, Calvin Harris and even Katy Perry who is ‘Spotify’s Most Streamed Female Artist of 2014’. Ed’s album has had more than 860 million streams on the music service.

Who knows what’s next for this talented music artist?
