Two WW2 veterans have reunited after realising they live just three miles apart!

2Bob Parks and Herbie Bright, both 89, fought in WW2, in the battle against the Nazi Germany. They served from 1944 to 1949 .

Bob only found out about his friend when his wife urged him to check the phone book to check if any of his old pals were in it.

He found someone named H. Bright in the phonebook and called him up, only to discover he was a few miles down the road. Mr Parks, nicknamed ‘Bonny’, was astonished at what he had found out!

Mr Bright stated it was marvellous to have someone he served alongside living in his neighbourhood.

They were so surprised that they had found each other that now they are going through lots of phone books to see if they could find anyone else they had lost touch with after the victory against Germany.
