Aston Villa YJAFor Aston Villa the long wait is finally over; 157 days after their last victory in the Premier League way back to the opening day of the season! Crystal Palace goalkeeper Wayne Henessey is dejected after letting Joleon Lescott header roll into the net during Aston Villa’s 1-0 win last night.

If Crystal Palace got away with a win they would have gone joint 6th with Manchester United. During the game Crystal Palace were dominant but Aston Villa never gave up. Following Lescott’s wonder goal he left Hennessey no chance but even after celebrating they had to park the bus and play defensive because they had almost half a match left!

Crystal Palace Manager, Alan Pardew, said, “My team didn’t deserve the victory. Aston Villa’s side were just better in general.”

Goalscorer Lescott said, “We’re not going to get carried away but we can take pride from that performance.”
