Hetalia is a hugely popular show not only in Japan but all over the world. You may not of heard of it but Hetalia is a Japanese webcomic, later adapted as a manga and an anime series. With characters of the show dressing in various colours representing different countries. Some of the popular countries are, Italy, Germany, England, France, Russia and China.

So far, over 60 countries and territories have been depicted. There have also been historical figures depicted, such as Maria Theresa and roman emperors, Napoleon Bonaparte, Leonardo Da Vinci and Jeanne d’ Arc. As well of personifications of other things, like General Winter, the United Nations, and every country has a Mr. Newspaper.

Unfortunately this hit animation never made it onto our screens but the amazing creator, Funimator, still creates these inspiring episodes and releases them on YouTube.

Back in Japan a female acting group; are dressing up as these amazing characters, and have plans to make a film.

Wow Evie, I never knew that Hetalia was an art, I’d never heard of it! If you’re into Manga, you should watch Mark Crilley.
