For those of you who have never heard of Friends here is a little catch me up. From 1994 to 2004 the television show was a worldwide phenomenon and the show followed six buddies trying to find their way through their 20’s, looking for jobs, romance and so much more.
The main characters were Courtney Cox, Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, David Schwimmer and Matt LeBlanc.
Most of the 1st season was shot at the Warner Brothers studios on Stage 5, their well-loved coffee house, ‘Central Perk.’ Not a real coffee house as it was actually built by the crew for the show.
All actors got paid around $22,500 per episode in the first season but the shows popularity soon pushed that up to a staggering $1,000,000 in the tenth season, 1 million dollars per episode, Wow.
12 years after the last episode they have made an announcement that ‘Friends’ is making an unexpected re-appearance. Unfortunately, for all people who love Friends, the hilarious Chandler Bing, played by Matthew Perry, is not making an appearance due to rehearsing for his new play The End of Longing. However, there are rumours that Matthew may tape something for the tribute.
They are to be reunited to pay a tribute to sitcom director James Burrows, who filmed 15 of the episodes. The ‘special’ episode is expected to be a two hour bumper episode with the programme scheduled to air on Sunday 21 February in the US.
Matt LeBlanc, who recently bagged one of the top jobs for BBC 1’s relaunch of Top Gear and played Joey in the show tweeted “Should be a good time!”
