The film is a sequel to the 2003 film Finding Nemo which was a classic in the Disney world. The writers are Andrew Stanton (who also came back as director from Finding Dory), Victoria Strouse and Bob Peterson. The director is Andrew Stanton and the Co-Director is Angus MacLane.
The cast includes Ellen DeGeneres as Dory, Albert Brooks as Marlin, Diane Keaton as Jenny, Willem Dafoe as Gill, Ty Burrell as Bailey Ed O’Neill as Hank, Kaitlin Olson as Destiny, Eugene Levy as Charlie, Andrew Stanton as Crush, Idris Elba as Fluke and Dominic West as Rudder.
Finding Dory focuses on Dory, who is an amnesic fish. Dory goes on a journey to find her parents but on her way things seem to get out of hand, will Marlin and Nemo ever save her?
One reviewer wrote: “We meet the short-term-memory-impaired Dory as a big-eyed little fish – her eyes are as large as her head. Her doting mom and dad are teaching her to navigate a world in which disorientation is the rule; and as you watch, you know she’s fated to lose her parents, her memories, and even large parts of her identity.”
The film premiered at the EL Captain Theatre in LA and was released on the 19th of June in the USA and received positive results. The UK premiere is at this week’s Edinburgh Film Festival.
