We often hear about the quickest cars on the road but what about the real slow coaches? Andrew, a Year 6 at Heighington Millfield Primary Academy, looked into this and this is what he discovered:

10) Mitsubishi i-Miev

0-60mph: 13.4 seconds

This Mitsubishi is one of the slowest cars in the world. With rear wheel drive, it has a top speed of roughly 80 mph;so it is not definitely not one of the fastest Mitsubishis out there!

9) Fiat Qubo Natural Power 1.4

0-60mph: 17.7 seconds

The Fiat is a front wheel drive car with a top speed of 93 mph and a cost of £15500. This (not so good) Fiat was released in 2013 and still hasn’t stopped being made.

8) Smart CDI

0-60mph: 19.5 seconds

The Smart CDI is a very small car with only two seats; it has a cost in the region of £11,000 and £14760 and has a top speed of 84mph making it very small and…….. slow.

7) Chevrolet CMV

0-60mph: 27 seconds (without any payload!)

The Chevrolet CMV was a Suzuki then a Daewoo, and then it finally ended up here, as a Chevrolet, with 37 horsepower and an average payload of 450kg.

6) Hindustan Ambassador 1.5 DSZ

0-60mph: 28 seconds

This car has ceased production in 2014. It first appeared in 1958 and gained notoriety when it featured on Top Gear where it won the World’s Best Taxi award. (This was basically a bunch of good drivers getting in different Taxis and having a race to see which car could get to the end of the race the fastest without having you taxi smashed up!)

5) Tata Nano

0-60mph: 29.4 seconds

This car is the world’s cheapest car and unsurprisingly one of the slowest accelerating cars. It could be yours for  a measly £1390.

4) MIA Electric Car

0-60mph: 30 seconds

This car will creep to 60mph as that is its top speed. It seats three people and has a tiny boot space of 9 cubic inches. The central driving position will remind you of the McLaren F1, the rest of the car though really won’t remind you of the McLaren F1.

3) Renault Twizy

0-60mph: It is not able to reach 60mph!

The Renault is very slow but it has lots of grip and it is also very small so it can fit through some small places, it also has a price of £6895 so it is also very cheap.

2) Aixam Coupe

0-60mph: It will not reach 60mph

This car has a mind-blowing 5.6 horsepower and a cost of £16,538 so it is very expensive for such a slow car.

1) Peel P50

0-60mph: Never

This car had a cost of just under £12,000, so for lots and lots of money you can be with the slowest people in the world however after you might also become the poorest person in the world. Take a look:
