Noren clinches British Masters title
Any follower of golf around Britain knows where they are going to be at in the living room when the British Masters comes around. It is an iconic event in the eye of many UK golfers – the one chance a year to prove themselves as a world-class golfer.
His year as the tournament came to a close; there was Alex Noren and Bernd Wiesberger left in with a chance of becoming one of the best golfers in Britain. As Wiesberger started to lose it towards the end, Alex Noren began to pick up the pace finishing his round at 18 under par, while Weisberger lost his grip towards the end finishing 16 under par- that’s still pretty impressive!
England’s Lee Westwood came close to nicking second after a disappointing Ryder Cup, scoring no points for Europe; he came 3rd with a decent score of 15 under par – considering he was going in to the tournament on a low from the Ryder Cup that’s pretty good!
Noren says to himself every time he is going out for a round of golf: “I’ve dreamt about winning too many times, it’s now time to awaken; nobody is going to stop me!”
If someone asked you to pick a player who you thought was going to win the British Maters I bet none of you would have ever said Alex Noren. He may be one to watch in big tournaments in the future!
