doryThe most popular films of 2016 have all been made by Disney: Captain America: Civil War, Zootropolis , Finding Dory and the live action remake of The Jungle Book. Last June, Finding Dory had the most successful launch for an animated film in US box office history, making an amazing $136.2m in its first weekend!

Mia, a Year 5 at Cottesmore Millfield Primary Academy is a big Disney fan and at home considers herself lucky to have access to the Sky Disney Channel.

She says, “ If you think Disney is too young for you it is not! Disney make great family films and the old ones, like the 1955 classic Lady and the Tramp, are still very popular today.

Do you have a Disney favourite? This is what the YJA team at Mia’s school had to say:

My favourite is Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – a wonderful film made back in 1937 but still looks good today. I remember as a child watching it and being terrified of Snow White’s evil stepmother. It was years later that I was brave enough to eat a red apple.

Wow fab article. My favourite Disney film is the Lion King because I love how cheeky the young Simba and Nala. ( In our last school play we did the Lion King and I was Simba.)

Awesome article Mia! My personal favourite is The Lion King, we did a school performance on it but it was nowhere near the original film!

Nice article! I love Disney so much! My favourite Disney princess movie HAS to be Brave (even though it’s Disney AND Pixar). However, if I had to pick one that wasn’t a princess one, I would have to pick Inside out!
