Usually in any superhero film, men usually take the lead as main characters. Most of the time they start hurting their ‘best friend’ or enemy. Although there are female superheroes, perhaps that’s the reason why when Wonder Woman plunged into “Batman VS Superman” the whole world was stunned. So much so, there was excited silence everywhere.

In 2014, Patty Jenkins accepted the offer to direct Wonder Woman (with some help from Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns). The film is the first summer superhero film to be directed by a woman, and Jenkins is the first female to direct a superhero film with a female main character.

Actress Gal Gadot described her character as having many strengths and powers but, at the end of the day, she’ll be different from Batman VS Superman.  Gadot had to go on a diet and had to learn many different martial arts, gaining 17 pounds of muscles for the role. She said: “We go back 100 years for her costume to when she’s more native, so it’s different to the Batman VS Superman movie.”

Gadot won the title role (over Elodre Yung and Olga Kuryleanko) for the first appearance in Batman VS Superman. Chris Pine was cast as Steve Trevor, and Sean Bean and Eva Green were considered as the villains for this upcoming film.

Unfortunately, we still have quite a wait for this film seeing as it’s coming out on June 2 2017, but Rouge One is in cinemas now and Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 is coming out 28 of April, so we have quite a few superhero films to look forward to!
