Sanchez and Ozil would be mad to stay at Arsenal this summer
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has confessed that he thinks Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil want to stay at Arsenal; however, critics believe that this may be a stupid decision as the team is completely underperforming.
Why these players are choosing to stay at a club who are supposed to be world class is insane – they have lost to West Bromwich Albion already this season, after all. Not only did they suffer defeat at the Hawthorns (which is absolutely abysmal); they have also lost to Bayern Munich, not once but twice! To be completely fair to the entire Arsenal squad, Bayern Munich are an amazing team but to lose 5-1 across both fixtures is awful.
Sanchez has had the privilege of playing for arguably the world’s best team, Barcelona, however he is still choosing to play for Arsenal – he must be crazy! The Chilean has gone from playing with footballing greats such as Lionel Messi to maybe not even making the Champions League. The Gunners have only got two months left to salvage a place in Europe with Manchester United and Liverpool ahead of them by a margin of six points. Moreover, the way Liverpool have been playing recently, they don’t look like dropping points any time soon so it may be an exponential up-hill battle for the north London side.
The German midfielder and the Chilean attacker are under contract until June 2018 but speculation over their futures has spread throughout the current Premier League campaign.
Most Arsenal fans thought it was over for Sanchez after both of the thrilling games against Bayern left the attacker with links to the German side. His future has been uncertain which has left every Arsenal fan biting their nails for whether he will stay or go.
Another thing that could be a huge factor to turn Sanchez and Ozil away from the club is Arsene Wenger. He has been absolutely woeful when it has come to stepping up as a manager and taking responsibility for his bad results. Losing to West Brom is just one of his many awful performances this season. He has definitely run his course as manager at Arsenal – he is exceedingly bad.
What is to follow for Ozil and Sanchez is uncertain but if they are to stay at Arsenal they must be completely crackers!
