Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp denies bidding for Joe Hart, who is currently on loan at Torino.

It was reported this week that the Anfield club was close to sealing a £20m deal for Manchester City’s keeper.

The England’s goalkeeper is expected to leave Manchester City but Klopp says he is content with his current keepers, Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius.

Referring to Hart, Klopp said, “He is a fantastic keeper, the highest quality, but it’s not for us right now nor in the future.”

Last August, Joe Hart moved to the Italian side Torino, on a season-long loan – after manager Pep Guardiola told him that he was free to leave the Manchester club.

Talking of Guardiola, Hart said, “If you are not going to win there is no point in fighting, especially someone as powerful as that.”

Hart told BBC sport in March he is “surplus to requirements” at City and does not see himself playing for them again but Guardiola has maintained that no decision will be taken until the end of the season.

Although he has made some high-profile errors in Italy, Hart has impressed Torino’s manager with five clean sheets in his thirty appearances. However, the Italian club claim they cannot afford a permanent signing.
