iPhone X is here
Apple has made some major changes to the look of the iPhone X with this new smartphone now including a stunning edge-to-edge display. The new screen has brilliant colours, true blacks, high brightness, and a 1,000,000 to 1 contrast ratio; the handset has a huge 5.8 inch display and the glass is the toughest ever used by Apple. It’s water and dust resistance too!
Apple boasts: “Familiar gestures make navigation natural and intuitive. Instead of pressing a button, a single swipe takes you home from anywhere.”
Now free of aluminum casing, the new phone is made with aerospace aluminum glass and, for extra fun, this device has new animation emojis called ‘Animojis’. The TrueDepth camera analyses more than 50 different muscle movements and can then mirror your expressions! As Apple says, ‘reveal your inner panda, pig or robot’!
A new camera feature is the Portrait mode. Now you can use Portrait Lighting for impressive studio-quality lighting effects.
Apple has also found different ways to unlock their phone. Previous iPhones, such as the iPhone 5,6,7and 8, included optional touch ID. The latest iPhone goes one step further with the introduction of face recognition.
All you need to do is scan your face like when you use your touch ID and then you’re ready to use your face ID.
Users can look forward to better battery life – up to two hours longer between charges.
(Next year, the AirPower mat will be available. You just place your iPhone, Apple Watch and AirPods anywhere on the mat to charge them wirelessly.)
One Apple fan described the iPhone X as ‘a product that will set the path of technology for the next decade’.
X is the Roman numeral for 10 and the question is will Apple’s latest iPhone get a full 10 out of 10 from its adoring customers? Let’s wait and see.
