Xbox One X – The world’s most powerful console
Or is it? The Xbox One X is the newest console in the xbox roster. It has 4k technology and an 8 core AMD processor. It also has 1TB of hardrive and 8GB of flash memory and a Scorpio fan. So for people who have no clue what I’m talking about, it’s basically an excellent console. But for £381 or $499 is it worth it? The jury needs to debate that one.
OK, at first glance it seems like a good purchase, I mean its graphics are immense and not to mention all the space it’s got for games. It’s the smallest Xbox yet, so it all sounds good, yes?
But hang on, that 1TB hardrive only fits about 14 games and 20 apps that’s not much. For a casual family this isn’t a problem but for a pro gamer this is a huge problem. Now most pro gamers have about 30 games minimum, probably nearer 50. Yes, I know you can use an external hardrive but it takes up more space, looks decidedly ugly and you have to set it up properly and that takes time away from playing.
Oh yes, then there’s the problem with the Blue Ray player. Its black area is too far up the screen and the colours are less than impressive. I just think it’s the worst Blue Ray currently available on consoles. Microsoft has said they are distributing an update to fix it, though at the moment it’s still a problem.
So, if you’re a casual player or family user, the Xbox One X is a good purchase but, as we’ve found out, for pros who have or want to have loads of games it may not be the best choice.
To be honest, I will always prefer computers but, hands up, I kind of like the Xbox One X.
