Bale or Griezmann to United?
Manchester United, arguably the best-known football club in the world, are looking to the Spanish league, and Madrid in particular, to boost their squad.
The Old Trafford faithfuls are hoping and praying that Real Madrid’s Welsh international forward Gareth Bale joins the Red Devils but Atlético’s Antoine Griezmann is also in the mix.
With Bale being rather injured-prone, there is a good chance he’ll be flying over to Manchester next summer. But where would he play?
United’s recent signing, Henrikh Mkhitaryan plays on the right so Bale has some competition with Griezmann, who could possibly play on the right. As we know, Bale, who plays on the right wing for Real Madrid, has amazing speed, a great shot and sublime passing ability, and if he comes will play as the left wing striker or right wing.
As Jose Mourinho has spotted some amazing players it is definite that the Bale and the Frenchman Griezmann are on the United manager’s bucket list. But the strangest thing has happened – the Frenchman may not come to Old Trafford because…… of our English weather! Speaking of a possible move, he said in his autobiography: “I haven’t made the decision. It depends on various factors. Manchester United is a possibility.”
Griezmann says he has not heard from Jose Mourinho so that could mean he may not be coming. (Although in a TV advert Griezmann misses a call from Jose. Is this a sign he’s not heading for Old Trafford?)
With Bale the picture is less puzzling, Real Madrid have said he can come to Manchester United for £85 million. (Not exactly a give-away for a player who through injury has only played nine games this season.) Mourinho has said he may sign him in August.
So, who will be at Madrid airport with a one-way ticket to Manchester?
