Are We Getting More Spoilt at Christmas? – You Decide!

Yes, Christmas is almost upon us and for many ‘it’s the most wonderful time of the year’. Few will disagree that Christmas is a special time for families and is a treat for all, but are children getting more spoilt every year?

If you ask your grandparents, they may get sentimental about the days when all children got was a pair of socks and a toothbrush, but now it seems the present frenzy is getting out of hand.

With more toys populating the catalogues, parents really want to make their child happy by buying them the trendiest toys. So, YJA is going to put a poll up about whether you think kids are getting more spoilt every year. Yes, it up to you to decide!

(The poll will close at 11.59 on Christmas Eve.)

So, now that we’ve got that out of the way, are kids more spoilt than they used to be? It seems to be generally agreed that the number (and value) of children’s presents are on the increase. Exciting for youngsters, yes, but is it really a good thing? Let’s hear some strong opinions of a few YJA readers:

“Children are getting more spoilt every year. It takes out the joy of spending Christmas with family and pokes fun at the holiday.”

“People should get their children more presents. They will look forward to waking up in the morning and opening their gifts and sharing them with everyone.”

Both the above are valued opinions but we’ll have to wait to see what you think. Don’t forget to place your vote!

An excellent poll to launch as we head towards the holiday period Oliver. I’ve cast my vote and will be interested to see the results and your thoughts on the responses.
