Aladdin Cast Interviews

At this time of year, theatres across the UK are staging pantomimes and surely one of the great favorites is Aladdin.

Three lucky Young Journalists from the Burgh School were invited by Skegness’s Embassy Theatre to watch this wonderful story performed by a very talented cast, who kindly agreed to be interviewed as soon as their makeup was off and they had changed out of their truly amazing costumes.

Watch out for a review of  this stunning production appearing on the YJA website soon but, in the meantime, let’s hear what the cast had to say:

Ollie Trickett as Aladdin

Stacey Gough as Abanazar

Jo Shah as Princess Jasmine

Dereck Walker as Dame Widow Twanky

Mark Shaer as The Emperor

James Houlebrooke as The Genie

Wow, I really enjoyed listening to your interviews, I think that you all did a brilliant job. One thing that stood out to me was that you all had very clear voices which I think made it sound so great. It was a great opportunity for you to experience and I hope that you all enjoyed the show as well as interviewing the cast. Keep up the good work!

I’m also looking forward to reading Erin’s review and also the other Eryn’s take on what it’s like being part of the show. Together all these pieces give a fantastic insight into the world of pantomime.

Before today, I have to confess that I was not a huge fan of pantomime but this performance was fantastic. Every single aspect of this production was superb and I’m so pleased our Young Journalists showed great confidence and were able to tap into the enthusiasm that poured out of the entire cast.

I would urge anybody within travelling distance of Skegness to try and get their hands on some tickets!
