Christmas Crisis

Christmas is almost here and families are getting ready for the big day that’s coming around the corner. People are decorating their houses with Christmas lights, they’re putting up their Christmas trees to get ready for this festive holiday.

Well, this Christmas is going to be a little bit different for many of us because of the cost of living is going through the roof! Petrol and gas prices are going up meaning the cost of simple everyday items will rise. This means running our basics such as heating, food and travel will be more complicated and challenging.

Here’s some thoughts year 6 children from a local primary school have explained to us. Grace said “It will be hard on everybody because of this traumatic experience that we are going through and I hope it will be over soon.”

Katie another year 6 pupil has also noticed changes at home, “we now have curtains between our kitchen and living room so we can keep the heat in.”

From all of us at YJA we want to wish everyone a Very Merry Christmas!
