With Chat GPT 4.0, Bard and other AI tools gaining even more popularity, more students are resorting to using AI tools. Join us as we show you how easy it is for students to use AI to do their homework.
AI like Chat GPT, can be asked to do or write anything; Chat GPT has been trained to decline inappropriate requests but, redditors like u/Principal-Goodvibes have made prompts that makes Chat GPT bypass those features allowing you to ask things which are illegal, write malware, explain how to hack, and more.
To demonstrate the powers of AI, I asked Chat GPT 4.0 to write this next paragraph:
“AI tools have made it easier for students to cheat on their essays. These tools, which use natural language processing and machine learning algorithms, can generate essays on a given topic, making it difficult for teachers to distinguish between a student’s original work and an AI-generated essay. Some students have also been found to use AI-powered paraphrasing tools, which can rephrase existing content to make it appear original. This has raised concerns about the ethics of using AI tools to cheat and the need for teachers to use plagiarism detection software to identify such instances.”
However, there is some good news for teachers Chat GPT remembers what it writes so if you copy and paste a student’s essay into Chat GPT and ask it whether it has written it, Chat GPT will say yes. However, if you were to put it in any of the other widely available online free AI tools you can trick this detections system. AI scanners have been proven unreliable as AI learns even more and can sometimes bypass these scanners altogether.
Do you agree with Elon Musk in AI needs to be stopped (https://youngjournalistacademy.com/musk-vs-ai/)? We would love to read your thoughts below.
