Holidays Are Coming…?

After using the same advert for over 39 years, the widely loved Coca-Cola beverage advert team used artificial intelligence (AI) to glow up the retro advert that was first aired in 1995.

In the previous years the appearance of a Coca-Cola Christmas advert was the sign of the Christmas festive season starting but after the release of the 2024 advert, the public aren’t very happy with how untraditional the advert is.

Coca-Cola has stripped the humanity out of one of the UK’s most well-known Christmas adverts with the use of AI. The video shows that they have side-stepped from its tried-and-tested formula to adding very realistic and high-quality scenes including AI generated animals, snowy mountains, villages and a sleigh.  Like the 1995 advert, they have kept the eye-catching decorated cola lorries that drive through towns, cities and villages but instead of making them real 40ft lorries they easily generated them. Coca-Cola worked with AI studios Secret Level, Silverside AI and The Wild Card to create the ads.

Did you know, Coca-Cola has included the famous Santa clause in all their adverts since the 1920s, but they have not included the whimsical figure this year.

What is your opinion of the advert this year? Is it as magical as you remember or were you expecting more?
