Smartphone addiction, how does it affect us?

We are all victims of the crime of being on our phone for too long, right. We sit on our comfy sofa and scroll through TikTok, Snapchat, Instagram, Google, Roblox the list goes on. We only get up in the morning to check out notifications or scroll on TikTok when we are bored and then we use them before bed we scroll through our phones all day but how can this really affect us?

Researchers have found that from the age of 18-90 a third of the global population used their phones in an addictive manner which can concern lots of parents especially for the younger generation. Since younger children are ignoring age guidance and increasing their screen time. 

Researchers have also concluded that an average person spends 3 hours and 15 minutes on their phones each day. Plus, Individuals check their phones an average of 58 times each day! 

This can affect children’s well-being it can negatively impact their emotion state leading to stress, anxiety, addiction or even in some cases depression. Children preform worse in things like tests and that could contribute to them lowering their grades which is a concern for adults.
