Donald Trump, the former and now re-elected US president prides himself on being a ‘Protector of women’ and claims that he will ‘do it, whether the women like it or not’ he is ‘going to protect them’. But how should we feel about his offer…?
During the 2024 presidential election, many people were anxious about their country being controlled by a ‘convicted felon’. An article written by Francine Prose in The Guardian: ‘The thought of a Trump presidency is eating me alive’ shows just one of millions of people’s thoughts about Trump in power. In the article, Francine Prose discusses her many questions about a presidency involving Trump, one of which is ‘What if misogyny is so open and prevalent that a woman’s laughter is described as a witch’s cackle?’
Prose’s fears are not irrational, as proven by the extensive list of quotes that expose Trump to not be as protective as he claims… Quotes directed at Kamala Harris during the 2024 election show his repulsive attitudes towards women, calling her vile names and derogatory statements about her ability as president:
- “You know what, people don’t like her. Nobody likes her. She could never be the first woman president. She could never be. That would be an insult to our country.” – Bloomberg Quicktake
- “She was a bum three weeks ago. She was a bum. A failed vice president in a failed administration.”- NBC news
- “Kamala is mentally impaired.”- POLITICO
Not to mention the disgusting and sexual comments he makes about his daughter Ivanka…
So what do you think about this self-proclaimed protector of women? Let me know what you think in the comments below.
