Tyson vs Paul: Fighting against the truth

The Mike Tyson vs Jake Paul match on November 15th is a popular event, but was it a fair fight, or was it just a scripted nightmare?

With this fight being famous and having a global impact, we have access to many different clips on every social media platform, and each one seems to make it faker and faker until we don’t even know if it can be classified as fake anymore. So, has it become so bogus that it’s ended up being real? As both fighters got older (Tyson retired early in 2005, now 58), did he stand a chance against Jake Paul (who’s 27)?

As they are both celebrities, they are usually paid to fight (with Mike Tyson gaining $20 million to fight and Jake Paul gaining $40 million), so they could be doing it for the money and not to enjoy doing sport again like before, even if they already own enough cash. This makes it seem like they’re doing it more for money and entertainment than for the sport itself.

This fight has been all over the news, such as the Daily Mail, which got an exclusive quote about Jake’s insight on the fight against Tyson where he claims he “didn’t want to hurt him”. This means that Jake Paul didn’t even try in the fight, and it comes across that they were forced to do the boxing match when they couldn’t have wanted to. So why did they?

In the end, the fight still ended up being ‘rigged’ as people put it, as both participants didn’t seem overjoyed about taking part and probably didn’t want to put any pain to each other (which completely dismisses the whole point of the fight). Although the entire match never ended up being entirely truthful, we never really know what strains people have, so maybe we’ll never know the absolute truth behind the matchup.
