After years of speculation surrounding two of Britain’s most recognisable boxers, Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury are finally set to share the ring on December 11th at Cardiff’s Principality Stadium.
Fury, also known as the ‘Gypsy King,’ is most recognised for his incredible size, movement and erratic boxing style. Whereas Joshua is well known for his explosive punching power and ability to finish opponents with knockouts. These differences between the boxers excite fans ahead of the battle, as the differences between the two will impact the outcome of the fight.
The excitement for the fight was proven by the world as tickets went available on the 9th of October. Online queues reportedly reached a high of 500,000 on Ticketmaster. The cheapest tickets to buy for the fight were £75 with ringside tickets being available for around £13,000. The stadium reportedly sold out in less than an hour.
Although boxing fans have waited just over a decade for this fight, fans online have spoken saying “the whole thing is a joke, you’re talking about 2 fighters’ way past their best” leaving fans speculating whether it should even be happening.
Both boxers have spent years building their career in the heavyweight division, but would the fight be better and bigger if it happened at the peak of their careers? After almost a decade of waiting, the question of Tyson Fury or Anthony Joshua will be answered on December 11th
Will it be Fury’s size and movement or Anthony Joshua’s power punching that wins the Battle of Britain?
