Formula 1 fans are watching history in the making. At just 20 years old, Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli is heading to the United States Grand Prix with the chance to become the youngest World Champion in F1 history.
Kimi will arrive in Texas following a third-place finish at the Singapore Grand Prix. He currently leads the standings on 340 points. He sits 102 points ahead of his Mercedes teammate George Russell, who is currently in second place.
A title victory would make history in Formula 1. Antonelli would surpass Sebastian Vettel as Formula 1’s youngest-ever world champion. This achievement would put him alongside the sport’s most memorable champions.
However, with 6 races left, the championship is not yet decided. George Russell and other leading drivers like Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen will be looking to stop Kimi through the final races. Max Verstappen’s recent victories have raised hope for fans and the Oracle Red Bull Racing team.
The results in Austin, Texas will depend on whether Kimi Antonelli wins the World Title, and will be based on race performance, points gained and the results of the race. Kimi can win the title if he wins the race, Russell finishes 9th or lower and Hamilton finishes 5th or lower.
Will Antonelli make history in Texas, or will the race for the title continue? Let me know your thoughts in the comments section below
