Blackfriars Theatre Academy in Boston has hosted a series of nine shows throughout the week beginning 27th November 2023.

Blackfriars website explains: “The enchanting modern classic from Disney is ready for you! Frozen JR. is based on the 2018 Broadway musical, and brings Elsa, Anna, and the magical land of Arendelle to life, onstage. The show features all of the memorable songs from the animated film, with music and lyrics by Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, plus five new songs written for the Broadway production. A story of true love and acceptance between sisters, Frozen JR. expands upon the emotional relationship and journey between Princesses Anna and Elsa. When faced with danger, the two discover their hidden potential and the powerful bond of sisterhood. With a cast of beloved characters and loaded with magic, adventure, and plenty of humour, Frozen JR. is sure to thaw even the coldest heart!”

We also heard from Blackfriar’s own Prince Hans. Here’s what they had to say:

YJA: how many times did you rehearse for your show?

Prince Hans: well, we started in September of this year and we had extra rehearsals on production week.

YJA: do you get nervous when you think about performing?

Prince Hans: Yeah, I do get nervous but honestly it wouldn’t be natural if I didn’t!

YJA: what part did you originally audition for?

Prince Hans: I originally auditioned for anna because she was always my favourite character when I was a kid.

YJA: Do you think that landing this role will give you more confidence for future shows?

Prince Hans: yes, I do think it will give me more confidence because it’s a big role and if all goes well then that would be a big confidence boost for me!

YJA: thank you so much and we look forward to hearing about your show!
